Random Game I Like #46: Doom 3

I tried out Doom 3 with my new video card and it runs! Not well, but it works. You should have seen it with my old video card, a GeForce 2 MX. It really makes you appreciate 15 frames/second when you used to get 5.

Onto Doom 3. It's a scary game. The lighting is spectacular though and the graphics in general are a feat of awe. I saw feet of awe the other day actually. I was playing Halo 2 and looked down. You could see your feet!

Anyway, back to Doom. It seems pretty cool, I think I'll try it more over this weekend.

New Video Card

I bought a used video card today.

Finally

I'm working on my final probability assignment for the semester. I can't wait for this course to end. It's really, really bad.

Random Game I Like #45: Sid Meier's Pirates!

In remaking the classic Pirates!, Sid Meier's has done something wonderful: he has reincarnated a game that although great did not age well. The new version retains the vision of its predecessor, but deftly adds new features, gorgeous graphics, and much more playability. Definitely check this one out!

Quick Question

Has anyone ever read the book or seen the film Johnny Got His Gun? Eric of Websnark.com mentioned it when discussing Monday's dino-comic. I want to know if it's worth reading.
