Quick Question

Quick Question

Has anyone ever read the book or seen the film Johnny Got His Gun? Eric of Websnark.com mentioned it when discussing Monday's dino-comic. I want to know if it's worth reading.

Comment Hey Eric, The black hardcover of In Nomine was too pretty. I loaned it to a gaming buddy and never saw it again. Consider making new games as ugly as Star Frontiers. OK, that's all I've go to say. I'm going to put a Chinese takeout carton on my face and go back to sleep.

Comment I don't think that simply going "to far" in depictions of the grotesque is enough to warrant avoiding something. In fact, I think it's very likely that it's probably using the disgust the viewer feels when observing its grotesquery to strengthen its message.

Comment Sorry for doubting your authenticity, you see, I have two theories about my blog that always sort of believe: 1. No one reads it. 2. One of my friends has been screwing with my mind in subtle and mysterious ways. Anyway, thanks for commenting.

Comment Wait, I'm from the future, too apparently. Today is December 1! Matt, you screwed up your time zones. Else, Blogeasy runs on GMT. Or the Mid-Atlantic Ridge timezone.

Comment One of the designers. And last time I checked, I was real enough.

Comment Wow, thanks for commenting Eric Burns, designer of In Nomine. If it is the real Eric Burns.

Comment Gruesome is probably the wrong word. It's horrifying.

Comment I've been meaning to read it forever, since I heard Metallica's song One, which is based on the book. Of course, I haven't gotten to it yet, which goes for close to every book ever. The music video for the song actually has clips of the movie. The book is regarded as an anti-war classic. It's supposed to be pretty grusome though.
