Matt's Cool and Interesting Blog of The New Millennium

This Summer

I'd like to start a multi-author humor web-site this summer. Something full of parody and silliness. I don't have everything (or even anything) fleshed out yet, but I'd like it to be updated with a new article on about a daily basis. If anybody wants in, talk to me.

Denouement

I was led to the Modern Humor Society by an interview of Websnark creator Eric Burns that is worthwhile to read. I have never heard of this site before, but it has a focus on the zeitgeist of internet culture that's fascinating. Also, it's a huge pretentious farce. That helps too.

Venture Brothers New Season

Venture Brothers got picked up for a new season. You can see Jackson Publick's announcement here

Random Game I Like #55: Lost Labyrinth

Lost Labyrinth is a what I'd be very comfortable calling a light roguelike. You go in a dungeon of Zelda-like graphics, and basically try to stay alive. The newest version adds a goal of collecting a bunch of staffs. The two things I really like about this game are character creation and damage. They both are Gurpsish. You choose advantages and disadvantages during the beginning of the game for points. This system allows you to fully customize your character beyond the standard classes in most RPGs. Lost Labyrinth is freeware and definitely worth a download.

I think I may have written this random game I like before, but I'm not certain, so... better safe than sorry!

Mushroom Kingdom

Yahtzee brings us these letters from the Mushroom Kingdom which are quite amusing.

Sentient, Angry Thought-Bubble Universe

Today's Fine Art is actually two! And the second one presupposes that perhaps thought-bubbles have a mind of their own -

WITH ZANY CONSEQUENCES.

In other news I programmed yesterday for 13 hours straight. I'd say it was awesome, but I'd be lying.

Fun

This picture I took of They Might Be Giants is number five for a Google images search of TMBG!

That concert rocked

I need to get some more pictures up.

NEW FINE ART

The new season of Fine Art begins today. Read it!

I'm going to work on the Fine Art site and layout over the next couple of days, to get everything ship-shape and full of greatness.

If you want, you can read the updated cast page. It should be somewhat informative, especially if you're thinking, "wait, didn't this comic used to have a bunch of Greeks in it?"

Fine Art Season Two

The new season of Fine Art starts Wednesday. Man it's going to be awesome. I have a couple of scripts written up and everything. I bet you can barely contain your excitement.
