What I Want For Christmas

Here.

Finale

The Season Finale of Venture Brothers is tomorrow at 11:30. So... watch it.

Argh Homage

My mind doesn't work because I was in lab for four hours. Anyway, here's a picture of a bunch of sprites I made for Super Homage Bros. They're not final, but I think that they're pretty good.Homage Bros.

Weird

I was walking back from doing some work tonight, and as I was walking, a streetlight went out. I kept walking and then the next streetlight went out as I passed by it. It was weird. A long time ago I read conversations of strange people on the internet who think they control electric fields or something. They had a bunch of stories that went exactly like this.

Venture Brothers: Even More Correspondence and Almost a Direct Answer!

After I received my first form letter from Venture Brothers, I thought my communication with them would end. I suppose the fault was mine. How could I underestimate such an awesome show?

When I checked my email today, I got this other form letter from the Venture Brothers:

For the past few months, scores of fans have been deluging the VENTURE BROS.
team with oodles (we think that's metric - look it up) of questions.

Those questions were compiled, collated, filtered, compared, contrasted, and
occasionally ridiculed. In the end, they were distilled down to the their
very essence, into what we've decided to call our FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
(a term we're sure will take the "net" by storm).

You can find the answers to these queries by pointing your fancy-pants web
browser here: http://www.venturebros.com/faq/

If your question wasn't one of those answered, don't worry - we're probably
still laughing at it.

When I point my browser to the faq hyperlinked in the email, I find an (almost) answer to my question! Here it is:

"Q: Who is Soul Bot?
A: Soul-Bot is a bulky electric nanny who possesses the metal ams that first hugged Jackson and Doc. His rich and hilarious origins are a very long story, that will be unraveled on the Official Venture Brothers Website some time soon. But to see what a Soul-Bot looks like, just watch the AstroBase Go bumper at the end of every Venture Bros. episode (he is the metal guy being pointed to by General Bot.)"

I'll have to look for the AstroBase Go Bumper Sticker, but I'm so happy that my question was answered. My level of respect for Venture Bros. has risen again.

So We Came Up With A Name

My development team (Sridhar) and I came up with a name for the platformer we're going to work on.

Super Homage Brothers.

We also named the characters. One is Homage Homage and the other is Nacho Homage. I drew a picture of them. Eventually I will scan it and put it here.

I often wish my first name was Nacho.

Game Cube Woes

It seems that everytime I whine about the current state of video games, it seems that my questions could be answered by a Nintendo Game Cube.

I mean no other systems have that classic Nintendoness about them.

Take a look at these games:

Zelda Four Swords
Animal Crossing
Paper Mario: The Thousand Year Door

What do these games have in common?

They contain something new and unique and they are only on Game Cube.

Some time, perhaps when Nintendo starts releasing games for whatever system is next, I'll get one.

Correspondence With Dean Venture

A couple of days ago I sent the makers of my favorite Adult Swim show, Venture Brothers regarding who voiced He.L.P.E.R., the fumbling, neurotic helper robot. It says in the credits that it's Soul Bot, but, I have no idea who or what a Soul Bot is. Anyway, I got a form letter, back. It doesn't answer my question, but it is well written, so here it is.

On behalf of the fine folks that produce what is clearly your favorite show
? the awesome Jackson Publick and the mysterious Doc Hammer ? please accept
this acknowledgement that your recent missive was, in fact, received.

It was even read.

Some jokes flew back and forth? some randy, ribald comments, and maybe even
a few snickers.

Sadly, both Jackson and Doc are busy guys ? they?ve got a show to produce,
for cripes sake. Do you want the entire VENTURE BROS. enterprise to be
derailed because they took the time to respond to every single one of the
massive amounts of mail they receive? Do you want that on your conscience?
The knowledge that you were responsible for depriving millions ? nay,
BILLIONS ? of television viewers a lone bastion of quality on their
otherwise barren TV dial?

No man (or woman) should have to bear the burden.

So please accept this response as a mere token of the love and affection
that both Jackson and Doc feel for you, and you personally ? not any of
those other schmucks who write them. It?s all about you, baby.

Believe it.

And hey, tell all your friends about the show. And the website. If you do
this, you?ll earn a place in our hearts.

Left ventricle, front and center, next to grandma.

I Heart Huckabees: A Real Review

I liked I Heart Huckabees. A lot. It reminded me a lot of one of my favorite movies, the Royal Tanenbaums. It's definitely worth seeing.

Tonight

I might go to see I Heart Huckabees tonight, so you might just get an accurate movie review.

Also, I saw an episode of Mr. Show last night on the TBS, and it was very funny. Someone needs to buy the DVDs so I can watch them.
