Visible Comment Leaving Things and General Blogeasy Discussion

Lunaboca of Rumination House just left a comment about my "add a comment links". In short, they should be in the bottom right of every post. As you can see, they're not there. But actually, they are. This seems to be a bug of one of two things, either Blogeasy or Internet Explorer. I switched to the web browser Firebird two weeks ago from Internet Explorer and suddenly these links are back. It's not the formatting options for my blog, because, believe me, I tried and tried to get the little buggers to reappear. Does anyone know of a way to fix this. I know others have had the same problem, as they too do not have these links. I'd love more comments and getting them visible would be great.

The second part of this post is to whomever runs Blogeasy. The front page hasen't been updated since August 5th, 2003. No one blogger in the Blogeasy community has heard from you (that I know of anyway). Is this site even being maintained by anyone? It's kind of weird that features have still not been fixed (such as the monthly bandwidth usage counter which seems to have been monitoring my total bandwidth usage since I started this blog up) and not fully realized (believe me, I'm way over my bandwidth limit, not that I mind this at all).

Other things that seem obvious and fairly easy to implement would be to allow other html tags. Italics, bold face, and underlining are nice. I sometimes have points that need to be made and these options would help. Maybe some centering and alignment options, too (Maybe it's the repressed artist in me, but I think all left aligned pictures gives me a balance problem). Anyway, I do appreciate much of the simplicity of blogeasy. Most member blogs don't look like web pages doomed to the sixth circle of Hell (like many blogs on a server known frighteningly as Xanga **NOT KAYLA's**).

Thanks for the comments. It's great to see people using the site in creative ways. The bug concerning the links is an IE bug. We've tried many workarounds but IE just never seemed to get it right. Good choice on switching to FireBird. We use Mozilla and Camino here and both render great and stick to the W3C standards. The site is developed completely using XHTML which tends to cause problems in legacy browsers such as IE. We fixed the bug with the limits although we don't actually enforce them. If it doesn't show up right now, it should reset to zero at the end of this month. We do continue to maintain and support the site 100%, but new development has slowed recently. We currently have two other major projects we're working on and will be released in May 2004. After that, there will be a major overhaul of the BlogEasy system hopefully by June 2004 that will address much of the functionality our users have been waiting for. We promise it will be big and have a lot of cool features but still maintain a similiar format and the simplicity that we've carved our niche to. BlogEasy is definately here to stay. Thanks for the support. We'll try to keep everyone updated as we get closer.
